Sony C. Tenzin, a Bhutanese friend of mine, who is an actress and a fashion designer, asked me to
take pictures of her self designed textiles. She is using traditional
fabrics to create very beautiful clothes that are modern and traditonal
at the same time.
Deki Yangden -who later started working as a flight attendant- was modelling for us.
My idea and intention for our fashion photos was to go just in the
middle of everyday Thimphu street life. So we did some kind of improvising
photography, trying to interact with the given surrounding and situation, taking in the encounters and activities that were happening at the given moments.
