Sony C. Tenzin, a Bhutanese friend of mine, who is an actress and a fashion designer, asked me to
take pictures of her self designed textiles. She is using traditional
fabrics to create clothes that are contemporary and traditonal
at the same time. Very talented Deki Yangden -who later became a flight attendant- was modelling for us.
It was my intention for these fashion photos to go just in the
middle of everyday Thimphu street life, the capital of Bhutan. So we did some kind of improvising
photography, trying to interact with the ever changing surroundings, situations, and encounters.
