In 2007 HELVETAS sent me out to document their projects of the past and of the presence. Within one month and with a rented car I travelled around 3000 km across the country, visiting Paro, Wangdue, Bumthang, Trongsa, Zhemgang and Sarpang.
I learnt a lot about the hardship and the beauty of rural live in Bhutan and I experienced the wonderful down-to-earth atmosphere in many villages and farmhouses.
In all of these places people made me feel being at home. With warmest hospitality they offered me wonderful insights into their unique culture that is still deep related to nature, community and spirituality.
